Can Adobe Acrobat 7 Standard create a CATALOG of multiple PDF files for a word search?

Hi mikekeyop,

You can define a specific group of PDFs as a catalog and create a unified index for that entire collection of documents, which I believe is what you're referring to here. When users search the catalogued PDFs for specific information, the index makes the search process much faster.

In addition Acrobat version 8 allows you to embed a search index for a specific file directly within the PDF to speed up searching.

Both these features are available in Acrobat Pro. version 8 under Advanced --> Document Processing --> Full Text Index with Catalog.Hope this helps,
