Attachment Linking

I've attached several PDFs to one PDF. I can link to the attachments from within the parent PDF easily. But how do I set it up so that readers can get back to the parent PDF without having to close and reopen the file? I've tried creating a Custom Link that 'executes a menu item' View>Go To>Previous Document. It works when I run it in Acrobat, but not in Reader, which is what most people who will be using this file will use to open it. Any ideas? Thanks!

It's very straight forward to add attachments to a PDF with Acrobat using either the Commenting tools or the Attachment panel. But, neither of these work with Reader. There are a few other options mentioned in the following FAQ but they might not fit your scenario.

I've just decided to have the attachments open in a new window, so that the parent PDF remains open. I found that you can do that in the 'Actions' pane under the 'Actions' tab. Not my first choice, but seems like my only choice.
