basic editing question

I'm very new to this but am a long time computer user. I'm using Acrobat 9 Pro (under Windows Home Premium) and wanted to blur out confidential information on a bank statement that my wife had to pass onto someone else.

The only method I stumbled upon was ... Tools \ Advanced Editing \ Touch Up Text Tool. I then just highlighted everything and manually deleted the text I didn't want anyone else to see and that was that.

Is that the only method I could have used? (I realize I could PhotoShopped it but that seems like an overkill.)

Thanks, Dave Horne
