Book Marks and Fonts

The 'powers above' are happy with the documentation I've put together. But there's one question when I'm creating Bookmarks:

The HEADING1 font is in small-caps. So when I create the bookmark it comes up as all caps. Not really what I was looking for, and looks a little untidy.

Now what I'd like to do is when Bookmarks are created they appear in a normal case, eg "This is what I want" rather than "THIS IS WHAT I WANT"

I know I'm bound to be missing something simple!
Any ideas much appreciated.
thanks
Al

I suspect that the "HEADING 1" entry has been made with the Caps Lock key "on". PDF Bookmarks reflect what has been keyed, not the style/tag overlay.

So, a "HEADING1" entry of "THIS IS HEADING ONE", using small-caps, will show the small-caps in the text flow. However, as the text is keyed in upper case, the bookmark will show as "THIS IS HEADING ONE".

Be well...

Nope - I see what you're thinking, and it does make sense. But I've checked a couple of the topics, plus created a couple of new ones too. Same thing happening....Baffled!!

Was there a resolution to this question?
i see the same behaviour.
what i want is for PDFMaker to take the Document Map information from the Word2007 document. and take it unprocessed by heading style. instead the PDFmaker takes the heading style and uses it (all capitals) for the bookmark style.
the only way to fix this that i can see is to manually edit each bookmark in Acrobat Pro. not the automated process i was hoping for.

Hi Randy.
Could be interesting to try exporting the Word doc to ASCII. Now try importing that instead. Confess not created any new docs at the moment - just working on some forms. Also - I wonder if it also behaves like this using RTF format.....?
U didn't used to work at SmartDisk?
Anyway - let me know what happens.

I tried a variety of file formats... the bookmark still picks up the style of the heading instead of just the content. i guess this is the default that most people like.

no.. i never have worked at SmartDisk, but it sounds interesting. :-)

Now how about backing-up your normal.dot file. Now create a new one with the fonts/size you need and replace the existing ones???
