On my Mac (OS X 10.4.11) I do variable data printing with Acrobat Pro 7 using a plug-in that’s not yet available for Acrobat 8. I also have jobs that need Acrobat Pro 8. The Adobe CS3 installation note says that installing Acrobat 8 will uninstall Acrobat 7.
I installed Acrobat 8 and Acrobat 7 is still there and seems to work. Adobe tech support says dual operation is not supported and they have no information on whether it will work.
Anyone know if they can coexist?

On a PC running WinXP Pro, the two beasts do coexist.
When I installed Acro 8, I got a message which suggests that removing the older version is not mandatory.
As long as your using both versions, you are taking some risk of potential harm to your data and/or files.
My advice to you is to back-up your files at least on a daily basis !!!
Best of luck, and remember, the nature of the beast is to be wild !
