Can files be set to saving to "read only" as a default?

Is there a default setting in preferences that will save ALL files in the "read only" mode? I'm looking for a way to always save my files so they cannot be changed.

My Product Information:
Acrobat Standard 8.1.2, Windows

Hi anne1234,

You have to do this on a file by file basis ( no default application setting for adding security). You could use a Batch Process to add secuirty to a bunch of PDFs at once.

Hope that helps,

You can only set the default security when you create the PDF by PDF Maker, Distiller or the PDF Printer.

If you are printing to PDF Printer by using the Printer control pannel and driling down through the printer's "Advanced" properites you can set the security.

You can open the Distiller appliction and set the standard security to apply.

In MS Office, you can set the security setitng through "Adobe" menu bar option and use the "Security" tab.
