Hi
First post Newbie here.
Apologies if this question is already answered somewhere.

I have Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard

I wish to know if it is possible to:-

a) Add a clickable excel file onto a PDF (like you can put an excel icon onto a word doc)
(I want to have a PDF doc composed of word, excel + other docs all stitched together, so it has the original untamperable version which stores & prints out as 1 doc- no problem with that - but also to have the ability for a future user to fire up the excel doc via an attached icon so they get the original excel file with all its formulae etc).
b) Add any other files from less used software e.g. I wish to add a calculation file from "AFT Arrow" (Arrow etc doesn't matter- it's the principle here)

Thanks!

Andy

You can add files to a PDF as attachments (open the Attachments pane).
Whether or not they can be opened depends on the version of Reader used to open the file and the security settings.

Thanks.
Had misunderstood the "attach a file" tool - thought it was part of combining docs.

tested it by send a PDF with attachments to a colleague who just has the free Adobe reader & he could see/open/use the attached Excel doc.Great!

Be aware, though, that they can't change the file and save it over the attachment in the PDF. That is, not unless you apply a special right with a very expensive prodcut called LiveCycle ES Rights server.
