Hi list

I have some files with a different file symbol --> pdf-symbol with something like a clock in the lower left corner.

Those files I can't open. Neither in Adobe 7 Standard, Reader 8 or Adobe 8 Professional.

Files contain each app. 50 scanned pages.

Does someone know what this symbol means? Thanks.

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 8.1, Windows

Can you post an example? You can post on Acrobat.com for free.

The files are quite big (4-5MB) . I've posted the look of the symbol.

Hi dreamer,

I've never seen that symbol before, but there are loads of thrid party programs that can create PDFs. Where did you get the files? Can you contact the author(s) and ask what program was used to create the PDFs?

In the past ( pre Acrobat 5) Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader were extremely forgiving about PDFs created by other apps that did not adhere to the PDF Spec. Over the years Adobe has tightened that down and newer versions of Acrobat and Reader may not recognize PDFs that don't conform to the PDF Spec. Not sure if this is what has happened in your case but it is a possibility....

Hope this helps,

Dimitri
