Changing Subject line when sending completed form

I'm using Acrobat Pro Ext 9 to create forms, and using Distribute Form to set up default e-mail address, etc. However I'm not getting the option to change the subject of the e-mail when users send back completed forms. Just the default 'Submitted Completed Form' is entered every time. Please advise. Thanks.

Hi,

you must write the URL like that:
mailto:[email protected]?subject=This is my custom subject line

Hi Merlin, thanks for the quick response. I did what you said for the URL on the Submit form button I added to the form, and it worked when I did a Preview. However when you distribute the file - and you have to - the default subject (Sumbitting Completed Form) overrides that URL. Any other ideas?? Thanks again.

Submit the file using a JavaScript command (mailDoc), instead of the built-in Submit File action.

Thanks try67; Where's some quick reference to the mailDoc command? E.g., for e-mailing the PDF attachment, with the customised Subject, e-mail form to multiple addresses, etc. If I 'Distribute' the form for filling-in with Adobe Reader, is the mailDoc command 'overridden'? Thanks again.

Very impressive example, Merlin, although I would probably hard code the e-mail address as well as the subject; however, when I 'distributed' your sample so it could be filled out with Adobe Reader, Adobe Reader (version X) crashed when I opened the distributed version. Any ideas? Thanks again.

Try to save as and/or optimize the PDF.

That worked, although it tool a while for Reader to open the distributed file; thanks.
