Compatibility Problem

I have a compatibility problem, if you set the Distiller and Optimizer in Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Pro to 1.5 or 1.6 it creates a 1.7 file. We have been trying to work around this for about a week now. If you right click on the file and look at the properties it is a 1.7 file and the single page files are not compatible but the multipage files are.

Thanks

Ari, What does the document report after you create the new file with the PDF Optimizer, then choose File > Properties (instead of a Right-click). Does it change when you close and re-open the file (sometimes the version info won't update until you do that).

Kelly,

I've done a lot of compatibility research over the internet and I don't really see anyone with the same problem. The Optimizer and Distiller settings are saved right. However, if you right click on the PDF files and look at the properties, they state they are 1.7 files versus 1.6 matching the settings. http://acrobatusers.com/tutorials/understanding-pdf-compatibility-levels

The single page files can be viewed with an Adobe 8,0 reader or higher but won't work with any of our other products. The only thing I can come up with is maybe it's a scanning (Corrupt Image) problem versus a compatibility problem. One product that I used said the single page images had 0 pages, when they all had one page.

Thanks
