Part of my workflow is to extract specific images from PDFs of newspapers so the image can be used in the online edition of the paper. Since there are a million more images in the newspaper than I actually need, it's excessive to "Export All Images" and try to filter through them. So I've been right-click/saving the individual images that I need. However in doing that I seem to be sacrificing the integrity of the color in the image -- it gets thrown all out of whack.
Here is an example:

**Look at where the player's foot meets the floor, the shadow of the silhouette on the gym wall, the contrast in the red uniform**
Any idea why right-click/saving images would affect their color? And idea how to work around it?

Looked at your example and played with some PDFs containing images.
Noticed the same effect when I did copy-paste.
"Copy-Paste" may not be the best way to move images about while maintaining image integrity.
A "paste" into an application will call up whatever default configuration the second application uses.
Often, the "default" will affect the image.
A good photo/image editor (many available at reasonable cost) might be useful.
Configure Acrobat to use it as its image editor.
(Edit > Preferences > select Category "TouchUp" ... then, use the Choose Image Editor button to locate/select the installed application)
With this, you can use the TouchUp Object tool to select an image.
Use the context menu to select "Edit Objects".
This will load the image into the photo/image editor.
Have this application configured to meet your needs.
QC the image & save it out to your HDD.Be well...
