Hi normangb,

Adobe is a company so I assume you mean Acrobat. What version of Acrobat do you have, or do you have the free Adobe Reader software? What program you have is necessary information to answer your question.

Hope this helps,

Hi Dimitri,

I have Adobe X. In earlier versions, I was able to enable drawings/markups in the toolbar.

Hi normangb,

Would that be Acrobat X or Adobe Reader X?

Adobe Reader (any version) cannot "enable" a PDF.
New with Adobe Reader X is the ability to comment on PDF files with highlighter and sticky note tools.
When a PDF is enabled by Acrobat X a user of Adobe Reader X may be able to perform the following:
(n.b., Which feature is available is determined at the time the PDF is enabled by Acrobat X. Also, Acrobat X Standard can be used to enable a PDF for form data fill in and save.)

• When enabled by Acrobat X Adobe Reader X can:
Review documents with a complete set of commenting tools using a simple, unified tool pane
Comment on video using commenting and markup tools to add feedback to a specific frame
Fill in and save PDF forms
Digitally sign PDF documents or add document timestamps
Comply with PDF digital signature standards, including ETSI PAdES Parts 2, 3, and 4
