Drawing tool?

I need to draw small vertical lines (we call them change bars) in the margins next to text that has been updated. Seems like I can only draw a line with a link to a comment box. Is there a way to draw a plain line? I'll need to be able to delete them at a later time, and draw them again in different areas of the margin based on updated content. I'm currently using verson 7.0 professional.

Thanks for your help.

Check under comments>comment and markup tools>line tool. Hold shift whilst drawing the line to force 45 degree angles.

In a short answer, no there is no Line tool that isn't a comment tool in Acrobat. You can create a line in another application (such as Photoshop) and save as PNG to preserve transparency. Then click the TouchUp Object tool and open a context menu on your page. From the menu choices choose Place Image.

You can also create a vector object in a program like Adobe Illustrator. Save as PDF if using any other application and open in Acrobat. Copy/Paste the image using the TouchUp Object tool. You can open a context menu on the placed image and scale and crop to fit various sizes.
