embedded hidden codes in PDF?

I found a PDF with embeded codes that it would contact somewhere when opening the document. My firewall notified so I blocked it. I wonder where the code is and how can I delete it? It actually nice to be able to track the usage of your PDF. Can someone share how to make a simple non-intrusive call-home function?

Thanks,

wfz

You can use Document --> Examine Document in Acrobat Pro. to locate and remove content from a document that you don’t want, such as hidden text, metadata, comments, and attachments.
To check all your PDFs for hidden content before you close them you can specify this option under Edit > Preferences (Windows) or Acrobat > Preferences (Mac OS), and select Documents on the left.
