Error creating PDF in Acrobat 9

Hi, hoping to find some help with this strange error that suddenly began to occur.

Everytime I try to create a pdf file I get this error:

When I run the installer in repair mode, this dialogue box appears:

I also get the adobe updater window appearing after every startup of the computer, despite that I have that option disabled.

I tried all the solutions on this technote, but none solved the issue:

I also tried uninstalling and re-installing, but still have the exact same issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated as right now adobe is useless to me.

Version info: Running Acrobat 9 pro on Vista with Office 2007

You might try removing 1) Adobe PDFMaker Add-In 2) Exiting 3) re-open Word, then manually add it again using Solution 3 in the technical note.
