Error message "a number is out of range"

When I am trying to delete pages from a pdf I have just created I get the error message "a number is out of range". What does this mean and how do I get around it to delete the pages?

Acrobat Pro 9.2, Macintosh

Was the file created with Foxit? If so, it's a known bug with that program which seems to produce corrupted files.
