After installing Acrobat Professional 8.0, when I open excel 2007 I get a compile error and then excel opens, the same happens when I close excel. This only happened after I installed Adobe.
Acrobat 8.0 does not support Office 2007. There may be some potential problems due to an attempt to install the PDFMaker. Hopefully a maintenance upgrade will soon appear to fix problems between Vista, Office 2007, and Acrobat 8.
In the meantime, try to repair your Excel installation and see if that takes care of the problems with Excel.
