A couple of things, first try the suggestions noted in the KB article Some characters in textbox lost when you convert PDFs in Excel 2007 (Acrobat 9). Also, try setting the Adobe PDF printer as the default prior to creating your PDF from Excel.

Same problem here. It's the addin not the printer. If I set pdf printer as default the output is fine. However I need to print a hardcopy and create a pdf to mail out to my customers. So making Acrobat the default printer is not an option. Is there a way to get the addin to work correctly? Right now I've installed a copy of Nuance pdf creator. Although very sluggisch it produces a correct output. So it's possible.

Is this the Save As plug-in you're referring to? Or the PDFMaker macro inside of Excel?

Both of them.

Unfortunately this issue originates at Microsoft. They found a bug in Microsoft Excel which doesn't print the text in the Excel spreadsheet with the appropriate print quality if the print parameters used are not the ones set by Excel.

Unfortunately you're wrong. I've tried that. I'm sure there are issues that originate at Microsoft and maybe this is partly one of them but the fact of the matter is that Acrobat is not able to produce a correct document and Nance pdf creator is. If Nuance software can make a proper pdf so should Adobe. The problem is that text is printed correctly and images are placed a few lines lower in the document than the should be...It would be nice to see this problem solved.
