Beginner to Acrobat; when exporting PDF file (complex landscape image and text) to Word the result is in portrait, chopping alot of detail off the right hand side of the page. Nothing in Settings of Export and page layout (in print options) is landscape.

When you save a PDF to Word format, the resulting file isn’t equivalent to a file created in Word. Since your PDF file is complex, this is probably why your resulting Word file is incorrect.
Have you tried saving as RTF? Or perhaps TIFF if the pages are very complex?
