Using Acrobat 8.0 Professional on Windows XP with Word XP. When trying to export a pdf to word we get the following error.

Acrobat was able to make this document accessible but found the following oddities:
Some fonts(s) missing information needed to determine the characteristics that coorespond to the symbols (glyphs) in the fonts.

The form is transferred but no fonts come in. Only square symbols.

Hi --

Do you know what fonts are in the document? You can check by choosing File > Properties > Fonts. Some fonts don't contain all the characters that you might expect, which results in the [] symbols on the document.

You might be able to make the change in Word. Select one or more of the symbols and choose Format > Font. In the Font dialog you'll see if there is a name listed. As I said, some fonts don't contain all the characters.Another issue arises from bullets. Again, it's a matter of whether the font is included with the PDF file's information or not.

In either case, see if you can select some of the symbols and change to a different font. You can use the Edit > Replace feature in Word and search for/replace the font. For quicker changes, if you are working in Word 2003 or newer, right-click one of the symbols and choose Select Text with Similar Formatting to select all the symbols, and then change the font.donna.
