File has all black Pages

I scanned a 152 page document as a pdf file. Now when opening that file every page is completly black. Any advice on how to revert this file back to a readable document? I have checked the background color -it is white -and the form field highlighting and they are not the culprit.

Thank you for your help.

Kevin,
Is "Invert Black And White Images" selected?

Open the Acrobat Scan dialog.
Adjacent to the top item (where you select the scan device), click on the
"Scanner Options" button

Daka,

The Scanner Device box has no options to select, therefore the options box is greyed out(not available) I don't see where I can turn on/off a inversion button.

Thank you and I am well...

In your Preferences under the Page Display category, do you have "Show large images" turned on?

lkassuba,

I turned off "Show Large Images" and now the file/screen is grey. Went from black to grey. But still no text. Thanks for trying to help.

Under Create PDF from Scanner > Configure Presets do you see an Options button in the Configure Presets dialog box? If so, when you select this is the checkbox "Invert Black and White Images" unchecked?

lkassuba,

That option/box is greyed out and not available. I had gotten that advice earlier. Not sure how to activate that box or if I even can.

What happens if you scan from an application other than Acrobat (i.e., Word)?

lkassuba,

Not sure about your questoin but... I scanned the document in question from our multi function copier - it automatically creates a pdf file. I scanned numerous documents and this one turns up all black upon opening the file. The original paper has since been destroyed. The other file appear fine.

But when I create pdfs from other formats - word, etc. Everything works fine and I have scanned some docs today that are legible.

Not sure that answers your questions, thanks for your help on this. It may be something was corrupt when scanned and its not fixable...

I have a similar problem. I am running Acrobat 6 Standard on a new Dell set up for 2 users, both with admin rights. I scan from a Fujitsu 5120 to save client documents on the C: drive. User #1, Acrobat is OK and when the scanned document PDF is opened, it displays normally. User #2, there is no image, just gray, although it prints normally....? Any ideas???
