files constantly zoom way out, scroll to last page

When I open a document it immediately zooms out to 8% and it scrolls to the last page. If I go back to the first page it immediately begins scrolling to the end again. I can't stop it and I didn't initiate it. Same with zoom. If I zoom to 100% it immediately zooms out to 8% without me doing anything.

Anybody have any idea why it could be doing this?
How to fix it?

thanks,

Huck

Does this happen with all PDFs you open, or just certain ones?

It has happened on all files I've opened so far. Tried it on 3 or 4 files.

That's very odd. When you open a document in Acrobat, which tool on the toolbar is selected? If you select the View menu item, is there a check mark next to the "Automatically Scroll" item?

George,
Thank you for the replies. This is indeed very puzzling. I just opened a document and it had no problem. I opened the documents I had problems with yesterday and the problem has disappeared. I was so desperate yesterday that I uninstalled and reinstalled Acrobat, which still didn't get rid of the problem. and I did check the automatically scroll button. anyway, it seems OK now???? So I guess I'll just be happy.

Thanks again,

Huck

By any chance did "sticky keys" become active in Windows?

This could cause multiple files to be selected when moving a mouse over a listing of a folder's content.

I'll check if it happens again.
