I sometimes print web pages into PDF files(from Firefox: File->print->Adobe PDF). I can highlight, underline and copy text in those files. But recently if I print web page I will get very large scanned images files. The files take a lot of storage space and I cannot highlight or underline any text in the file. The only changes happened to the software was several update through the Internet. I reinstall the software to get rid of the updates but the problem still exists. How can I fix this problem? I am using Windows 7, Firefox and acrobat 9 pro.

Have you tried launching Acrobat and choosing File > Create PDF > From Web Page? Also, Acrobat is currently at 9.4.6, you may want to update that as well:

After updating, also try Help > Repair Acrobat Installation (in Acrobat)

The problem seems fixed after I upgaded FireFox to version 7.1

I have been printing web page to PDF file since acrobet 6.0. Never have any problem before Windows 7. So I don't think acrobet 9.0 is the problem.

"File-create PDF - from web page" generate files about twice as large as the printed ones. For some web pages certain web links are saved and each time when open the file several question need to be answered. Also for some web pages the OS will hang.

If I use IE9 then for some web page the print command will generate a notepad file (see below) instead a PDF file.

Wonderful news. I'm sorry to hear you are getting the error message in IE9, but I have seen quite a few issues & complaints about IE9 (in general). The error though looks like it might relate to a corrupt font on your system? Do you own any font management utilities that you can use to scan your font library? I've had good luck with Suitcase, from extensis.com. They have a free trial and the program ships with an application called FontDoctor - which will scan and repair damaged fonts (if repair is possible).

Also, did you get a chance to update Acrobat to the latest?
