How do I export a scanned image to Word so it can be edited?

I have Adobe Professional 8.0. When I export the document to Word, it just puts the image of the document on Word and I still can't edit the text.

How do I edit the text from a scanned image? Can I still do it?

The entire export is considered an image including the text. The best solution is to edit the text in Word if you have the original document. If not, use the Snap shot tool to capture the image to the clipboard and paste it into word. Then the Select text tool to capture the text which can be edited in word. You'll have to make sure to place the image back to it's original location in the Word doc.
