I'd like to know how to remove a Photoshop created vector smart object from a PDF in Acrobat.
I recently asked for some assistance editing and removing text from a PDF in Acrobat but now cant find that post and used the touch up text tool but now cant find a way to remove a smart object from Photoshop, is that possible?

thanks

Hi PaulElliott,

You need to use the TouchUp Object Tool to edit images in PDFs. Select that tool, place the cursor on the image, click and choose delete from the context menu that comes up.

Hope that helps,

Thanks Dimitri, I have tried that but cant get it to work as it just selects the background image and not the vector image onto of that.
This is a Photoshop doucment with text on which I can remove now but also some text is also a vector panel with text over the top of that.
When I click on that with the TouchUp Object Tool it simply deletes the entire background image.

Hi PaulElliott,

The TouchUp Object tool will select vector graphics. The graphic, once inside a PDF is no longer a Photoshop image. You may have to play around with the selection as its possible you not have actually hit the object correctly. Or try rubberbanding the object- with the TouchUp Object tool active, drag a box around the image and then select it.

Hope that helps,

I know the vector imagine isnt a Photoshop doc any more just wanted to let you know how it was created.
Still no good Dimitri, I have tried the object tool, clicking on the vector or on the edge of the vector still doesnt remove it and simply deletes the entire image. Even after removing the text from above it doesnt allow access to it.
I cant post the image here as I would be breaking copyright laws but it appears like this, there is an image with this vectoe panel and text all over the entire image including the vector panel..

I know Acrobat isnt the same as Photoshop and Illustrator but it would be very helpful if there were layers wich were easliy acessable I think. Is there any way to see a break down of the entire image componants Dimitri?

Any more help please?

Thanks

Hi PaulElliott,

Sorry no, I don't have a solution for you using Acrobat without being able to see the document and analyze it. It is possible it is all part of one image and the parts are not selectable.

Anyone else care to weigh in on this?

Hope this helps,

Dimitri
