Does anyone know if it's still possible to create a hyperlink to a specific PDF page? Two years ago I would create a link like this: http://doit.missouri.edu/about/FY09-annual-report.pdf#page=9 and it's no longer working. Even if I use http://doit.missouri.edu/about/FY09-annual-report.pdf#page=Sec1:9 that doesn't work either. Is anyone else having htis issue?

Thanks, Brennan

Hi,

First link:
Actually, the link works just fine.
As described below, the Initial View selection of "Two-Up, Continuous" is what gobbers it.

Second link:
The parameter #page=
is for the PDF logical page number.
The cover page is logical page 1. The blank page is page 2.
Continue the "count". "Sec:1:9" is logical page 11.
(I pretty sure I counted it up right - but always good to do it yourself.)
Adding undesirable skew is the PDF's Initiall View of "Two-Up, Continuous".
When a PDF is placed in web space, most-times most-folks, will find an Initial View
selection of "Default" or "Single Page" more palatable.
Also, when using the #page= parameter you let Adobe Reader/Acrobat deliver the logical page
as you intended (opening to a *specific* logical page).
Using "Two-Up, Continuous" as Initial View forces the PDF to lead each page view after logical page 1
with the even numbered logical pages. Logical page 11, by itself cannot be rendered.
"Sec1:8" (logical page 10) will always "lead".

If you do not have it, here is a link to Acrobat 9's Open Parameters PDF.
Grab it while you can. The "default" documentation page at DevNet now points to on line information.
Very nice, very robust, easier for Adobe to keep up to date, and provides for user comments.
BUT, --- this 'ol boy does draw comfort from having a PDF in hand.
This one is in my "eLibrary" that goes where I go.
Never subject to 'connectivity issues' don't you know .Parameters for Opening PDF Files, version 9
