Has anyone messed with ipad or iphone pdf built in the ibooks Wondering if anyone has tried any different interactive pdfs to see what works and what does not. The only thing I notice so far that works is links. I can link pages together and bounce back and forth and also link to webpages (which takes you out of the ibooks).

Anyone have anything else they have tried? I am trying to create a somewhat interactive magazine pdf with some interactivity. This way I can put it on my website and people can download to their ipad or iphone. This will allow me to bypass the hassle of going through the app store. Plus I can not create an app like Wired Magazine or Popular Science interactive app magazine.

Or if anyone knows of a pdf file that has all kinds of sample interactivity built in, I can simply load that in to see what works and what does not.

thanks,
Nick

Something to look over -

iPad's iBooks app supports ePub.
At acrobat.com, one feature is "Buzz Word".
This is a pretty robust feature for content authoring.
Content can be export to ePub.
ePub content, from Buzz Word, placed on your site for download might "do the trick".

Adobe's interactive features in PDFs (video and 3D rich media, Flash, JavaScript of any form, portfolios, etc) are not supported on iDevices.

thank you, but I was looking for an uniform cross platform format to cover PC, MAC, DROID, and Iphone/ipod/ipad. I think I would limit myself with epub more. Good ol PDF is the only cross platform format to cover everything...guess it will just have to be a plain jane pdf

thanks
Nick
