Hello,

Im producing a PDF newsletter, which will be sent to each one of my compaines employees Outlook inbox.

Is there anyway of me tracking how many people acutally open it?

Ive thought about placing it online then putting a counter on the site.

Any ideas would be great.

Chris

You probably want to put it online and track the open rate on your site. The problem with attempting to use an internal counter is that anytime a PDF is opened from the desktop and tries to access the web, the user will be asked permission for security reasons. You probably don't want this behavior, not to mention that it may detract some folks from reading the newsletter. The only time this would work without a dialog popping up would be when the PDF file and the URL to the tracking script are on the same domain.
