Is it possible to disable line enhancement FROM a document?

Hi! Long time lurker, first time asker:

Our company's new publication standards include a very subtle variation in line weight between table headers and body rows. If thin line enhancement is on in Acrobat, the line weights are jumbled, with different lines seeming thick or thin at random. The lines are 1 pt and .5 pt respectively, and Acrobat just doesn't know what to do with that.

If you disable Enhance thin lines in your acrobat preferences, the tables render as they should, but it seems kludgy to tell our users "hey mess with your Reader configs so our manuals look good!" Is there any way we can temporarily impose these settings for anyone who reads our document, perhaps with scripting of some kind?

Thanks!

PS: The obvious answer would be to use different line weights, so of course we have also been absolutely disallowed from doing so.

No, there's no way to control this user preference with JavaScript or any other document-based action. I recall other folks wanting the same type of control, so I'd urge you to submit a feature request.
