I recently upgraded to 8.0 and added the upgrades to that. Now I can't open any jpegs or other photos. The message says that it's either an unsupported file type or the file has been damaged. If I uninstall adobe, they open. But then I can't open any pdfs. What's wrong?

My Product Information:
Acrobat Standard 8.0999999999999996447286321199499070644378662109375, Windows

Hi rhandley,

Can you clarify what is happening here? Are you experiencing this error when you use the File --> Open command in Acrobat 8.0 or Reader 8.0? Also, what OS are you using?Keep us posted,
Lori

This happens whenever I click on a jpg to open it. Usually when it's attached to an email. The message is
"Adobe Reader could not open "whatever file.jpg" because it is either not a supported file or because the file has been damaged (for example it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded"

But it happens with every jpg. So I can't open any jpgs on my computer

I'm using Windows XP professional.

This is driving me nuts.

Thanks for your help.
