I've enabled the key accelerators in Preferences, and they work just fine for selecting the hand tool and such, but for some reason 'U' and 'S' (and Shit+U for that matter) don't do anything. I've tried reinstalling Reader X but it's still not working. This is seriously frustrating me and I'm sure it's something simple that I'm overlooking but I can't think of anything else. The files that I've tried to comment in are not protected files.

In the file that you are trying to Comment on, are the commenting features enabled? They aren't on by default in Adobe Reader.

Yes, commenting is enabled; I can click on commenting options and they work.
