Linking between pdf files 8.1

Linking Acrobat 8
I create a page view link from pdf1 to pdf 2. When I test the link, pdf 1 is prompted to close and a second version of pdf 2 is created. This has been tested on several computers, networks, ec. and seems to be only in Acrobat 8 standard or pro. Any ideas what is is going on?

Hi jallis,

You can set the link behavior when you create the link. Under the Link Properties tab when you add the Action to open another PDF you should receive a pop-up to Specify Open Preference. This will allow you to open another file within the existing window or in a new window (or user preference).
