I will have many thousands of pages of numerous/various expert testimony, pleadings, briefs, etc.

I would like to create a pdf document which is a table of context or index. This index would grow weekly. I would also use bookmark feature to navigate my ever growing index. I would like to use links at each different part of my index to jump out to the actual testimony /document. QUESTION: Can I set this up to work like on Internet, where I jump out once and then jump back. Or will I have to jump out, then close the file I junped out to and re-open my index file?

Thanx D.

Hi D --

The simplest method is to use the Acrobat 8 PDF Package feature.

1. Click the Combine Files task button to open the Combine Files dialog box.
2. Locate and select the files to include in the combined document.
3. Click next and select Assemble files into a PDF Package.
4. Click Create to generate the new package.
5. Check the previews, and click Save.

In Acrobat, you see the list of documents arranged above the document pane by default. You can move that structure to the side of the document pane if you prefer. Also, the default uses an Adobe template as the PDF structure surrounding the package's contents. If you prefer, create your own file to use as a cover page for the package.

In the future, repeat the process with the package and additional content. You won't have to jump in or out.
