Hi I am using Adobe 7 pro and have been asked to do the following ; create links to parts of a pdf e.g. paragraph 1 etc..

Can I select parts of a pdf and create a hyperlink or URL to that destination?
I would then use this link on a CD to view that particular paragraph.

I know I can do the reverse selecting text and linking to a web page or url but I need the link to point to the part of the pdf.

Hope this is clear.

You can create named destinations in the PDF, and link directly to them using a parameter in the URL - or do the same thing with a page number.

See this link for info.

Dave,
Thanks very much. I have saved the info and will go through it tomorrow. Looks along the right lines for me.

Cheers

Dave, I tried that and it seems to want to point just to a book mark, someone has explained the linking to a destination and that seems more of what I am after.
But I can not get it to work can you or someone explain where i am going wrong.

In adobe 7 pro I have set destination e.g test

Then within my html doc I have altered the link to have the following at the end :

#nameddest=test I beleive this should work. So my final link will look like this.

data/Contract Manual/Interface Agreement.pdf#nameddest=test

When i remove the #nameddest=test the link works fine but just opens on the first page. This is not for a web page but files stored on a CD so looks in the data folder and not a http:// hope this is clear.
Thanks

Cliff
