Live email links

I'm trying to create live email links. I'm able to do this by using the link tool, and inserting the mailto: [link=mailto:xxx [at] xxx [dot] com]xxx [at] xxx [dot] com[/link] command. However, in addition to opening up an email, it also opens up a browser with the mailto: command in the url field. Is there a way to prevent the browser from opening up?

My Product Information:
Acrobat Standard 6.0.5, Windows

You've neglected to mention which "Action" the link is performing. Since it's opening up the browser I would guess it's the "Open a Web link" Action. Instead, goto the Actions tab on the Link Object's properties panel and select the "Submit Action". Use the "mailto" syntax as the submission URL.

This doesn't seem to work now that we've upgraded to Acrobat 8. I used it quite a bit in Acrobat 6. It looks like it should, but when I click the link, nothing happens. We use Novell GroupWise. Could this be the reason? Is Acrobat 8 not compatible with GroupWise/

Select link tool. Markee your text or graphic. On 'create link' dialog select 'open a web page', click next. At 'Edit URL' field type 'mailto:address [at] domain [dot] com'. Select desired appearance. Click OK. Select hand tool and test.
