Hello,
We are planning to use Adobe LiveCycle for viewing, merging, spllitting and annotating the PDF files from IBM content manager. What is the best tool for me in the Livecycle?

Acrobat Standard 8, Unix/Linux

Designer wasn't "designed" to do that. You'll be using Acrobat and some plugins, depending on your exact needs.

Designer is a form-creation application, not a document-management application.
