I have a document in Adobe Acrobat 7.0 professional that is 500 pages long. It contains links throughout the document. I would like to lock those links, so that I can add a page to the document without the links getting messed up. IS this possible?

Unfortunately Acrobat doesn't provide you many improvements in managing links. Destinations can preserve the page link but buttons and links get messed up as I suspect you already know.

You might search for a 3rd party plug-in that can help you do the job. There are a variety of products that can help you manage links much better than Acrobat.
