Looking to create an Unlocked PDF

I have a situation where I need to create an unlocked PDF file....so that my customer can either make changes to the data or add additional information...and then send it back to me via email.

My question is: which software should I purchase that would allow me to author this type of pdf? I am unsure whether I need the Standard or Professional version of the Adobe Acrobat software.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Bill

Which kind of changes is the customer suppose to make? Which version of Acrobat or Reader do they have?

I am looking for your help , I know I am not at the correct address. Can someone tell me if I need a different Adobe program or can you detail what I have to do to get the job done.

I want to scan a preprinted membership application form with adobe reader. Then I want to move it (the scanned form) into an Intuit Quickbooks 9 program. Please help me

Bill,
As alluded to by try67, more details about what you want to do would be helpful.

pawagan,
Adobe Reader displays PDF files. It has no create or edit abilities of PDFs by itself.
If your scanner came with an application that outputs PDF or you use something that works with the scanner output image to provide a PDF then Reader will display the PDF.

Acrobat 9 Professional has a feature that supports working with Quickbooks.
No release of Adobe Reader does.

One possibility that supports doing what you want may be:
A scanner, with updated driver software and Acrobat 9 Professional.

Be well...

Be well...

Basically, this will be a billing summary. My customer wants to be able to place a check by each line item in the summary....approving it to be billed. Then he will email it back to me. If I am not mistaken, he has Acrobat Standard.

The main thing he stressed was to send an "unlocked" pdf.

It shouldn't be a problem at all. If you want to make sure the document is fully enabled press Ctrl+D and select No Security under the Security tab.

ok...great....but my main question was can this be done with the Standard software, or do I need the professional version?

Standard should be enough... But not if the customer uses Reader.
