I am new to Acrobat. I just purchased 8.1.2 Standard and love it.

I want to publish pdf eBooks and sell them online. What are the best steps for learning to publish online eBooks with pdf.

Also, I want to make some portions of my books in a way that the reader can take notes directly on the book he owns (possibly on a side margin). Is it possible to create a book like that? Can such a book be read and used in Acrobat Digital Editions.

Thanks for any and all help.

Hi --

There really isn't a trick to building PDF eBooks. One of the best things to do is view a couple of free chapters or books in Acrobat Digital Editions. You'll see there is a range of different layouts, but they are all usable in the view.

You're going to have to look at security for your book, which you can do with your own added security.

The reader can use the comment feature in the viewer to add their own notes. If you intend to do that, leave a wider margin on the page.

Thanks!

I hadn't thought of using an extra margin combined with the direct comments feature available in Acrobat. I thought the book might need to be in a "Form format" or something like that. Will a person be able to make direct comments when they are viewing the book through Adobe Digital Editions or will they need to be viewing from Acrobat 8.0 to make comments?

The Adobe Digital Editions is a very nice view for reading a book.

Thanks again.
