Merging Bookmarks

Hello,
I was wondering if there was a way to combine bookmarks from different documents. Basically, I have documents that are 300-1000 pages long. Because the document is so large (and it takes a while to open), I split it up into documents of approx. 30-50 pages. I do, however, want a set of bookmarks that spans the whole 300-1000 pages.
I called adobe sales, and they said there was some way to merge the bookmarks from various documents so that they could be viewed as one set of bookmarks. They told me something about archiving, but that is all I remember.

Does anyone know if this is possible, and if so how I get to it in the acrobat professional (version 8) environment?
Thanks!

You may want to read the Working with Bookmarks section of Adobe's Batch Sequence PDF document.
There are two locations available for obtaining the document and a zip file with ready to go sequences.

#1.
GoTo: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/acrobat/
Click on the "DOCUMENTATION" tab
- at page bottom download "Batch sequences" and "batchseq.zip"
OR
#2.
GoTo: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/acrobat/wwdistiller.html
Scroll down to mid-page.
Download "Batch sequences" and "Sample sequences used in the Batch Sequences document".

Perhaps it will help.

Be well...
