Merging PDF's causing text spacing issue

Hello,

I tried searching the forum, but could not get a answer on this. When I convert a MS word document to the PDF the spacing between text is perfect. After combining a few PDF's created from various file types (Word, Excel) in a merged PDF, text spacing look incorrect. Example:

When you combine PDF files that have the same font subset, Acrobat attempts to combine the font subsets.

When you create these PDFs, are all the fonts embedded? You can check under File > Properties > Font tab.

I checked and some of the fonts are not embedded. Is there any easy way to correct this?

Acrobat 9 Pro / Pro Extended have a Preflight that embeds fonts (provided the font(s) are available on the local machine being used.
