Need advice on making changes to long fillable document

Acrobat Pro 9.4.5: I have a 30-page fillable/saveable document with spaces for users to fill in lots of information on every page. When I created it I had not thought about the problem of updating it with new names associated with the signature blocks, nor the problem of adding/changing text.
I was hoping to find a find/replace feature for changing names, but I realize it isn't Microsoft Word. But while the TouchUp Text Tool highlights the text, it will not allow me to type in replacement text. I created the document in Word, so I do have the right font (that was listed in the Help as one reason TouchUp might not work).

So the Help suggests I go back to the original Word document, make all the name changes and insert the changed paragraphs, then convert it back to a fillable/saveable pdf. But I don't relish having to re-create all those fillable spaces over 30 pages of document. That took hours to make up all the boxes. I'm a novice at Acrobat, having used it only once to create this fillable document. I would welcome any advice or suggestions anyone might care to offer. Would Acrobat 10 help any? Thanks.

I would suggest, edit the original MS Word document for your changes. Then save the Word doc under a different name to differentiate the version, convert that file to a PDF. Now open you existing form and replace the pages in the current form with your new pages. You may now need to adjust the position of the form fields. Now save the PDF form and make an enabled form of the revised PDF form.

You will not lose the form fields and scripts as they reside on a different layer than the content of the PDF does.
