Not Re-opening to Last Viewed Page

I'm on a Mac OS X 10.5.8 using Acrobat 8.2.0.

I have a check mark in Preferences > Documents > Restore last view settings when reopening documents.

But some (maybe all) of the newer PDF files don't reopen to the last viewed page, they open to the first page of the PDF.

I would really like this feature to work for me, and it does work on my older PDF's.

Why won't it work on all PDF's? Is there another setting? Is this a bug? Are some PDF's created so as not to allow this?

Anyone have advice on how to get this to work?

Thanks

This is just a workaround, but you can use this free tool : http://abracadabrapdf.net/articles.php?lng=en&pg=468;-)

Thanks Merlin,

I've switched to using Preview which opens to the correct page and I already have installed.

I would still like hear any ideas on how to make Acrobat Reader work correctly. if anyone has ideas.
