November 12 online forms seminar - connection issues

Answered

Though this isn't the forum to announce this issue, I couldn't find any other forum to post. I cannot connect to the November 12 Advanced Forms and Live Cycle Designer e-seminar that started 15 minutes ago. I've tried three different browsers on two different computers.

Same results, the Acrobat Connect page displays a message that says "Connecting"

I have no idea if there any issues with the e-seminar Acrobat Connect, and there is no contact information on the e-seminar announcement on the Acrobat User website.

I had similar issues with a seminar last month, and could not find any option to contact someone about the problems during the e-seminar. Something to consider for future eseminars:
Post a contact email address on the e-seminar announcement page so those people who are having difficulties connecting have an option to contact someone before the e-seminar is over.

Ditto... This is unfortunate as I have two other designers who are in my office to watch this with me... Adobe Connect Pro In-Meeting said contact AUC...

Thanks for your quick responses. I was wondering if others had similar issues. Hopefully someone will stop by soon!

I was looking elsewhere in the forums and found this under an apology for a previous forms e-seminar in January:

"We were unprepared for the number of members who would
actively participate and we overtaxed the bandwidth we had allocated."

So, why did I register? Rather, why did so many seem not to register?

Sigh. Very frustrating.

Yup. This was the first AUC Seminar I'm attending... Check *was*. Guess we'll have to wait for the archive to be posted...

Probably not gonna be in the drawing, either... Guess it'll go to someone who didn't register but got in...

I've attended several AUC seminars. The content is good, and the interaction with the presenters is very helpful when you have questions. Using Adobe Connect to present works well, when the connection is made.

Two issues I've had with the e-seminars:

1. Situations like today, when a connection can't be made. There's no help available. No contact email address, no contact person, no option in the AUC forums to contact someone quickly.
2. No options to follow up on commitments made during the seminar. At the last seminar, I was told one of the Acrobat professional consultants/staff would send me a document. Unfortunately, I didn't get their name. I've posted my request in the forum, but never heard anything back.

Might be helpful to have a specific forum for e-seminars, to allow for interaction when an e-seminar connection can't be made, and for follow-up questions to e-seminars.

Hi everyone,

We apologize for the technical difficulties you're experiencing with connecting to today's session. We're experiencing a glitch or two with Acrobat Connect Pro and we have an escalation team working on it presently.

Thank you for your ideas around a forum or email specifically for eSeminars and issues. We will put this in place prior to the next event.

Sincerely,
Stephanie

Stephanie,

Thanks for the reply.
Will the e-seminar be rescheduled?

(It would be lovely to be entered in the drawing!)

Yes, thanks, Stephanie... When the In-Meeting support person asked me who I could contact as an administrator of the meeting, I could only shrug! That will be helpful!

Do you know how long it usually takes for the on-demand to be available. I really do want the content for my other Acrobat-o-philes here... Thanks!

I agree, I'm very interested in this session.

Two more questions:
1. Did the eSeminar take place?
2. How many people had issues connecting? (If there were many people, and the eSeminar didn't take place, perhaps you can re-schedule the eSeminar?)

We'll consider rescheduling the eSeminar if there's enough demand.

Also, I'll post a link here to the on-demand; when it's available.

I had trouble also -- and was REALLY looking forward to the content. Hopefully it can be rescheduled and you can send an e-mail to everyone letting us know when the new date is.

Stephanie,

Not sure if you saw my message earlier, did the eSeminar take place? If yes, how many people attended?

Unless people who registered for the eSeminar are notified about the issues with today's eSeminar, they may think their problems with connecting were unique.

Yes, the eSeminar did take place and over 200 people were able to attend. Unfortunately, we were no where near capacity when we realized that individuals were experiencing difficulty entering the session.

We are considering adding a repeat session for those who were not able to gain access.

Again, my apologies.
