I use Acrobat Pro 9 with scansnap to scan and create PDFs in Mac.
Is there Acrobat script or Applescript or folder action that my PDF automatically get OCR and reduce the size?
Is there a way to create keyboard shortcut to do same?

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 9.2, Macintosh

Thank you, Merlin
Can you please suggest where I can learn how to do this effectively and automatically?
I know it is all there but some learning may help.

I do not want to go to thr well too many times and exhaust my welcome.
But this is gold, and highly appreciated.
I got everything except the "Set the "Run command on" menu as you wish, then > OK > Run sequence." part.
So I created the sequence, how do I tell Acrobat, hey when I scan something you do this sequence and do not bother me till what to name and where to save dialog.

Thanks for the "gold"
;-)

Select your new sequence > EditYou will see :
- 1. Select sequence…
- 2. Run commands on
- 3. Select output…
- An "Output options…" button

- Run commands on > Selected folders > Choose (choose the "IN" folder, the folder where you put your scanned images files)- Select output… > Specific folder > Choose (choose the "OUT" folder, the folder where you want to place your OCRized and optimized PDFs)- Output options > PDF Optimizer > Settings- OK > OK- From now you simply have to select the batch sequence, then clic "Run sequence".

BTW, for OCR choose the "ClearScan" mode, it dramaticaly decrease file size, better than any "PDF optimizer" option…

Compare (zoom to 6400% !) that samples files :
http://abracadabrapdf.net/file/OCR_DUDH_ImageIndexable.pdf
("Searchable image" mode = 1,3 Mb)
&
http://abracadabrapdf.net/file/OCR_DUDH_ClearScan.pdf
("ClearScan" mode = 170 Kb)

This file is the "Universal Declaration of Human Rights" in french.

Can anyone who knows how to write Applescript, please write a script for
Acrobat menu/Advanced/Document Processing/Batch Processing/Run Sequence/ 'my' sequence/OK
Or suggest where I can go. That will make the whole thing automatic with folder action
There is one for PDF Pen

The following has tried something similar

And this one
