Overlay text does not appear on redactions

In the trial copy of Acrobat 8 Professional, the overlay text appears on "Applied Redactions" I iinserted by hand, but do not appear on the reactions made via Search and Redact. The overlay is there: When the mouse is placed over the redaction created in Search and Redact, the underlying overlay text appears but when the mouse is moved away, the selected background color is all that can be seen.

The problem has appeared even though Acro 8 pro recognizes the file. The problem has appeared in both Windows XP and Windows Vista (Business).

I've also played with different font and background colors, no luck there.

Even more strange is the disappearing overlay problem does not happen when the file is a Word file.

(Note: the file was scanned using both my office's Acrobat 5 software and the scanning option presented in Acrobat 8)

Has anyone run into this problem with their Acro 8 Pro? If so, were you able to resolve it and how?

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 8.1.2, Windows

Try updating to 8.1.3. There was a known issue in earlier versions where the Redaction overlay text disappeared on scanned documents of text.
