Page numbering

How do you get page numbering to be visible starting page 2 yet not have it show as page #1? I have set the document to number page range 2-5 but I set number format to begin with page 1. It still labels 2nd page as Pg 1. I saw an example done on a mac on Total Training DVD that worked but it doesn't work for me.

Hi pasadenasteve,

You don't mention what version of Acrobat you are using. In Acrobat 8, select pages 2-5 in the Pages panel, then go to the Number Pages menu under the Options pulldown. At this point you'll see the ability to select the Start number, which should be 2 for the second page. Then, go back to page one and select the Style as none under the Number Page menu so that no numbering appears on this page in the Pages panel and toolbar.
To change the numbers that appear on the document pages, add a header or footer.

Hope this helps,
Lori
