Page Numbering Glitch

I've searched the old threads concerning my page numbering problem and could not find a similar problem so here goes.

I just combined several PDF files into one document. Worked fine. Now I want to add page numbers. When I attempt this the footnote window pops up and I put in the information I want, etc.. However the footnote window is so large the "OKAY" button is off the screen. No matter what I do I can't move the window around so I can click OKAY/ confirm what I want to do. I can't resize the window either. As such the page numbers are not inserted.

Interestingly I'm using Acrobat Pro 8.2.3. This version is not listed as an option in the "Tell us about your software" section of this new post. Wonder if this is the problem?

Any help would be appreciated.

Acrobat Pro 8.0, Windows

You may need to adjust you computer's screen resolution to something like 1152 x 864.

Thanks a million. The screen resolution was the problem. I have a "wide screen" monitor and my resolution was set at 1280 x 720. I increased that to 1280 x 800 and it worked. After I added the page numbers I went back to my original screen resolution.

However, I would say the problem I experienced is a bug in the software. Most software I use opens help windows etc. within the confines of the interactive area of the software window. Even if I minimize Acrobat to a point where it occupies approximately 2/3 of the screen area and then try to add footnotes, the window that pops up is much larger than acrobat itself. I suspect during developement, the developer was using a huge monitor so the problem was not noted. I've seen this problem with web pages were the page was developed on a large monitor but the end user was using a smaller monitor. As such they have to scroll left and right to see hidden items.

To reiterate, changing the screen resolution worked. Thanks again.
