I have recently installed Acrobat Professional 8.1 on my computer. After the installation I deleted Acrobat Reader as it seemed to be a waste of space when I have the Professional version. O now have problems opening pdf files in the IE browser as the pdf file type is "not recognized." I have no problems when I double-click on a pdf file on my computer.

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 8.0999999999999996447286321199499070644378662109375, Windows

Hi reidarbb,

See this Adobe Knowledge Base article for how to configure the browser to view PDF files-

Adobe does not recommend (nor support) having both Reader and Acrobat installed on one system.

Hope that helps,

Dimitri
