I emailed a fillable pdf form and it left my computer as a pdf file. It arrived at its destination as a .dat file. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

When you sent the file did you convert it with the distribute files function. If you did did you send the Pub PDF or DAT PDF?

When you use distribute files function it creates two PDFs. One is for sending (pub for publish) and the other is the file used with the info comes back.

Did you send the form from Outlook? If so, you can also try setting the mail format for Outlook to Plain Text, and then resend the PDF attachment.

To set the mail format:

1. Start Outlook, and choose Tools > Options.2. Select the Mail Format tab.

3. Choose Plain Text (or HTML) from the Compose in This Message Format pop-up menu.

4. Click Apply, and then click OK.

If you compose messages in Microsoft Outlook as rich text, attachments may be sent as a winmail.dat files. If you compose messages as plain text, attachments are sent in their intended formats, such as PDF.
